When you dream, what do you dream of?  Living out your dreams is ageless.  If you have always wanted to learn how to draw, sing, or dance, why not begin to live the dream now.  The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center has state-of-the-art performance and studio spaces which will provide an opportunity to explore a variety of ways to find your own voice and celebrate it. Programs are designed for all ages from children to adults.

Performing Arts

  • Dance classes feature many genres such as ballet, tap and jazz. 
  • Theater classes include instruction on acting, improvisation, auditioning and provide performing opportunities. 
  • Music classes consist of group instruction and lessons in instrumental and vocal music. 
  • Instrumental classes from beginning guitar, piano to group jam sessions will also be offered. 

Fine Arts

  • Classes consist of drawing, painting and ceramics and may soon include printmaking and photography.
  • Ceramic classes include instruction on the pottery wheels, in ceramics and sculpture. Some ceramic classes will demonstrate how to create your own ceramic molds, glazing technique, and fire pieces to create original works of art.
  • Painting classes instruct in both watercolor and acrylic mediums.

Dance - Beginning Jazz  #1232

Ages: 8-14
Wednesdays - 4:30pm
Sept. 8 thru Sept. 29, 2010

A fun introduction to the world of jazz!  Students will learn a variety of jazz styles ranging from swing dancing to musical theatre to hip-hop. Classes will include a basic warm-up, floor work, short combinations, and choreography. Be prepared to get funky!

Acrylic Painting #1526

Ages: 16 and up
Wedsdays - 6pm
Sept. 1 thru Oct. 6, 2010
Member: $45, Non-member: $50
For the adult beginner. Acrylic paint is an easy-to-manage medium, so this is an ideal class for the beginner. Participants will learn about color mixing, brushes, materials, basic techniques, and choosing a good composition. All materials are provided.
