Within The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center’s “Doors of Opportunity”, there will be so many things to do and ways to grow. Our fitness staff is strongly committed to providing services and classes which best fit your needs. We’re also actively engaged in specifically offering programs for all ages and ability levels. Become a lean mean machine with this strength training class for both men and women. Using a barbell system, this class will exercise all your major muscle groups for strength and endurance. Set to music, this workout will allow all participants to develop strength, increase metabolism and become more efficient with your cardio workout. Final Cut is a workout for any fitness level with modifications made for your specific needs. This is a 50 minute class for individuals 16 and older. This class is part of our Elite Program, featuring specialty type classes.

Certifications
The Kroc Center occasionally partners with professional associations to provide fitness certifications. These training workshops are held at the Kroc Center. Workshop fees go directly to the association providing the training/certification.
PERSONAL TRAINER CERTIFICATION

A
three-day certification workshop including lectures, practical
demonstrations and written and practical exams. Although this course
will help prepare you for both AFAA’s Personal Fitness Trainer
Certification and the Personal Fitness Trainer National Boards,
successful completion of the course does not guarantee you will pass
either examination. The curriculum includes Anatomy and Kinesiology,
fitness assessment testing procedures (3-minute step test,
sit-and-reach, push-up, abdominal crunch, body composition screening
with skin-fold caliper measurement), nutrition fundamentals and weight
management, special populations and medical considerations, listening,
leadership and motivational skills, exercise programming in the weight
room and wellness programming and screening guidelines.
This certification is for the aspiring and experienced fitness
professional working one-on-one with exercise clients. Early
registration and pre-study is required. In addition, weightroom/weight
training experience is strongly recommended.

and a subscription to American Fitness magazine (does not include

For AFAA certified professionals who wish to register for CEU credit
only, not for certification, the workshop fee is $255. Receive 15 CEUs.
